Excellent resistance to atmospheric conditions • Extremely fast response time • Outstanding gap-bridging • Stable and hence perfectly suited for vertical applications • Solvent-free • Product can be grinded and recoated • Good adhesion on materials with different coefficients of thermal expansion • Gap-filling, viscoplastic adhesion joints
Physical properties:
Characteristics: Polyurethane Colour: Beige Form: Paste Adhesive film properties: Viscoplastic Working temperature: +5°C to +30°C Specific gravity: 1,43 g/ml Open time: Approx. 15 – 30 minutes Handling cure time: Approx. 60 minutes Full cure time: 24 – 48 hours Temperature resistance: -30°C to +80°C after curing Tensile shear strength: 10 N/mm² (23°C, 50% rel. air humidity, 7 days curing, beech wood) Consumption rate: 400 g/ m² depending on the substrate
Instruction of use:
The designated surfaces have to be dry and free of dust and grease. Generally, we recommend the use of a suited WIKO Cleaner to ensure a perfect application (WIKO Metal Cleaner AMTR.D500 or WIKO Plastic Cleaner AKSR.D500). Remove existent release agents, if necessary. Dependent on the composition of the material and the surface, the surfaces to be adhered need to be grinded/sanded. Apply WIKO Assembly Adhesive one-sided onto an assembly part in the form of a bead. The adhesive is curing by moisture, i.e. the applied adhesive can to be sprayed with water in order to achieve full cure faster. Assemble the parts within the skin formation time (max. 2 min after moisturisation) and press them until functional hardness has been achieved, if necessary.
WIKO Assembly Adhesive slightly sets free carbon dioxid (foams) during the curing process. In its cured state, WIKO Assembly Adhesive can be grinded and recoated.
Advice: The viscosity of 1C polyurethane adhesives during application at +15°C is twice as high as during application at +25°C.
Adhesives changes colour if exposed to sunlight but maintains its strength and stability!
Adhesion of aluminium: A long-lasting and age-resistant adhesion of blank aluminium surfaces is only possible when they have been manually (sanded, grinded) or chemically (corroded) pre-treated. Bonding coated aluminium depends on the type of coating. Adhesions of solid wood to solid wood need a minimum bonding pressure of >1N/mm².
Skin formation times as well as the necessary pressing times can be established by self-tests, since those tests are heavily influenced by material, temperature, adhesive layer thickness, moisture and other criteria. The processor should add a safety margin to the listed reference values.
Generally, cleaning of cured WIKO Assembly adhesive is only possible by mechanical means.
Please pay attention to the information of the safety data sheet before applying the product. Use only in well ventilated areas. Large curing masses should only be stored in well-ventilated areas, as well. Avoid contact with skin or eyes. In case of skin contact, clean the spot with water and soap. In case of eye contact, wash eyes for 15 minutes with water and consult a doctor immediately. Harmful to health, if swallowed. Keep out of reach of children.
